Screen Skinz

Wayne Pfeffer, Clay Canning, and Rashaun Brown started Screen Skinz around a common headache for people who use large TVs outdoors. A backyard setup looks great until sunlight hits the screen and the picture becomes hard to see. The glare problem shows up at pools, patios, restaurants, sports bars, and outdoor event spaces. Most people try to solve it by moving the TV, building shade, or buying a brighter display, but those fixes do not always work.

Their solution was a product that attaches to an existing TV and reduces glare so the screen stays more viewable in daylight. Screen Skinz positions itself as an add-on rather than a full TV replacement. That matters because outdoor-rated TVs can cost much more than standard indoor models, and many customers already own a large TV they want to use outside.

The business grew out of the same kind of trial-and-error that drives a lot of hardware products. They had to figure out what materials worked, how to fit different screen sizes, and how to make installation simple enough that customers could do it on their own. They also had to balance visibility, durability, and weather exposure, since outdoor setups bring heat, moisture, dust, and wind into the equation.

Screen Skinz built its product lineup around different TV sizes, which lets customers pick a version that matches what they already have. The company markets to both homeowners and commercial spaces. That includes places that want an outdoor screen for sports, live events, or general atmosphere but do not want to rebuild the entire setup.

Over time, the company turned a straightforward idea into a focused product business. The pitch stays centered on one use case: helping TVs work better outdoors by cutting down glare and improving the viewing experience in bright conditions.
