Parrot Finance

Parrot began with a problem its founders had seen firsthand. While working in finance and tech, they noticed that many investment strategies were difficult to access without experience or large amounts of money. That gap shaped the idea for a different kind of platform.

Nikki Varanasi, Victoria Yang, and Lucy Yang brought together backgrounds in investing, engineering, and operations. Nikki had worked in private equity and consulting, including roles at firms such as KKR and McKinsey. Victoria came from product and engineering roles at companies like Shopify and Coinbase. Lucy had experience in finance and operations, including time at Goldman Sachs and in the public sector.

They first built an earlier version of the idea under a different name, focused on making investing more social. That project later became Parrot, with a clearer focus on letting users follow and mirror investment strategies from experienced investors.

Parrot works as a platform that connects to a user’s brokerage account. From there, users can track and copy investment portfolios created by professionals or verified traders. The system handles allocation and rebalancing, which reduces the need for manual decisions. It runs on a subscription model rather than taking a percentage of assets.

The launch gained early traction. Within weeks, users had connected accounts totaling several million dollars in assets. Partnerships with major brokerages followed, which allowed the platform to plug into existing investment accounts instead of requiring users to start from scratch.

Funding and accelerator support helped move things forward. The team joined programs backed by groups such as Techstars and raised capital from venture firms. As the user base grew, the product expanded to include more portfolios and strategies.
