Sabeena Ladha founded Deux (pronounced “dough”), a line of vegan, plant-based, gluten-free cookie doughs. The dough is made with the highest quality ingredients, without preservatives and fillers, and are suitable for a variety of diet regimens. The dough differs from other similar products in that (1) it’s deliciously sweet—no taste of cardboard here, and (2) it contains ingredients that improve your health.
We have done well eliminating unhealthy ingredients from our food, but now vitamins and supplements can be added. No longer do consumers have to choose between taste and health. Sabeena calls it “hedonistic health,” when you take pleasure in things that are good for you.

Enjoy the Deux
- Because the products are vegan, you can take bites of the cookie dough right from the jar. Or use the dough to make cookies: roll bits into balls, flatten, bake at 350º F for 7-8 minutes (depending on your preferred degree of gooeyness).
- Refrigerate your Deux. It tastes better and lasts longer. If you freeze Deux, it will last up to six months. Just be sure to let it thaw in the refrigerator before eating or baking.
- Before you recycle the jars, hand-wash them and use as succulent planters, scrunchie holders, milk or wine glasses, spare change collecter, or sourdough starter.
Deux Flavors
Deux begins with a base of oats, nut butter, vanilla, maple syrup, coconut sugar, water, and flaxseed. Each flavor is then enhanced with different ingredients, e.g., amino acids, pea protein, vitamin D, that support the body and mind. Sprinkles and vegan chocolate chips are used to top off some flavors.
Please Note: All products are made with nut butters (almond, cashew, or peanut) and are manufactured in a facility that processes wheat, dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, and soy.

Deux Founder
Sabeena was homebound due to the COVID pandemic. Like many others, she spent some of her time baking, both because it was relaxing and because she needed comfort food, cookies, in the unprecedented, unsettled times. As she baked, she popped her supplements to build up her immune system. The dichotomy of cookies-health concerns was not lost on Sabeena. She wondered why delicious cookies couldn’t contain health aids, such as vitamins and supplements.
Sabeena’s parents immigrated from India and adopted the “standard America diet.” Sabeena had mac and cheese for dinner, Oreos for breakfast and any other popular “Consumer Packaged Goods.” She taught herself a healthier lifestyle while in college. The irony is, after graduating from the University of Texas’s Red McCombs School of Business, she went to work for PepsiCo in their Lay’s division, helping to sell more bags of potato chips!
When Sabeena founded Deux, she first worked with a doctor of naturopathic medicine (a system that uses natural remedies to help the body heal itself) to curate the vitamins and supplements that best benefit Deux both in taste and health benefits.
She market tested the cookie dough by dropping limited quantities of it on Instagram. It sold out very quickly. So she set a sales goal for herself and decided to quit her job when she reached it. She reached it in a week and handed in her resignation.
Deux cookie dough is sold from its website and ships nationwide. It is also available in Erewhon stores in Los Angeles and on delivery apps on the East Coast. Sabeena is now working to make Deux accessible to as many people as possible. She doesn’t want the brand to be “coastal elite.” Particularly, she is building awareness with consumers in Middle America.
