Founder and CEO Megan Klein brings her line of non-alcoholic cocktails and spirits, Little Saints, to the Shark Tank Season 16 Premeire. Founded in 2021, Little Saints crafts plant-based alternatives to traditional alcoholic drinks, made with functional ingredients like reishi mushrooms and lion’s mane.
The Little Saints product line includes ready-to-drink mocktails and a non-alcoholic spirit, all formulated without sugar and containing only natural ingredients. Little Saints’ provides the flavor profiles of popular cocktails like Negroni Spritz, Spicy Margarita, and Paloma, while incorporating functional ingredients such as organic reishi mushroom extract.
Klein began her career as an environmental lawyer, advocating against industrial pollution. Later, she transitioned into sustainable agriculture, managing a significant vertical farming operation. These experiences informed her approach to creating plant-based products that align with her values of health and sustainability.
The idea for Little Saints emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic when Klein sought alternatives to alcohol that could offer a similar social experience without negative health impacts. She collaborated with food scientists and plant medicine experts to develop formulations that would provide both flavor and potential functional benefits.
Little Saints’ products are low in calories and free from sugar, appealing to health-conscious consumers looking for alternatives to alcoholic beverages. They offer variety of flavors, each aiming to replicate the taste and experience of traditional cocktails.
While the non-alcoholic beverage market is becoming increasingly competitive, Little Saints is working to establish itself by focusing on natural ingredients and functional additives. As Little Saints continues to develop, Klein is leveraging her experience from previous ventures in the consumer packaged goods industry to navigate the challenges of scaling a beverage company, not an easy task.
