Mush Oatmeal

Entrenched in a fast-paced world full of schedules and deadlines, entrepreneurs Ashley Thompson and Kat Thomas found they were often forced to eat meals that were convenient and quick, but not usually very healthy. Most snacks that people think are healthy choices like yogurt, cereal, or protein bars are typically full of sugar, something that more and more research is pointing to as a cause for widespread health epidemics like obesity and diabetes.

Oatmeal is a much better choice for a quick breakfast, but it’s not really convenient to make. That’s why Ashley and Kat came up with Mush, a ready-to-eat, all-natural oatmeal with a little twist. Mush oatmeal is cold soaked in almond or coconut milk that they produce themselves, it’s not actually cooked. This process creates a product with the consistency of a pudding, that is more nutrient dense than traditional oatmeal, which has had lots of its vitamins and minerals cooked off.

It’s just as easy on your digestive systems as the oatmeal you’re familiar with but it packs more protein, anti-oxidants, and essential nutrients. Mush is available in several flavors at Whole Foods and other natural grocery stores, and the convenient single serve container even comes with its own spoon.
