Dreampad Pillow Plays Music to Help You Fall Asleep

Counting sheep was never really a sure-fire way to help someone fall asleep, and now that an exciting new technology is available, those sheep are going to be history. The product behind this breakthrough is Dreampad, and the company that created it has found a way to create a pillow that has built-in sound technology to help the user fall sleep faster and stay asleep longer.

The system inside the pillow activates the body’s relaxation response, allowing the mind and body to unwind so a person can rest. For anyone who has trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, this new pillow is a game-changer.

The best part of the Dreampad pillow is that it works by playing music through vibrations, so only the user can hear it. This avoids disturbing anyone sleeping next to the person using it.

Dreampad was originally designed as a relaxation tool for children who had high levels of anxiety, including those with trauma or autism. Parents reported that the product worked to help calm kids of all ages, and going to bed was no longer a problem. In fact, it worked so well that parents began borrowing their children’s pillows to help themselves fall asleep. After experiencing terrific results, they urged the company to create one for adults.

That was the genesis for developing the Dreampad. It’s not a pillow with speakers inside. Instead, it has transducers built into the pillow that pump the music right into a person’s nervous system through vibrations to the inner ear. The music comes from smartphones either using a jack or via an optional Bluetooth receiver. An app is available to download a selection of music specifically chosen to help promote relaxation and sleep.

There’s a lot of research behind the pillow, and the theory is supported by many studies. The company behind the Dreampad is Integrated Listening Systems (ILS), headed by CEO and Co-Founder Randall Redfield, and President and Co-Founder Kate O’Brien-Minson. Many researchers and educators are on the ILS team. The goal of the company is to continue to use their creativity towards methods and products that are cutting-edge. Their mission is to help people relax and get the sleep they need to do their best every day.

The company is motivated by their ability to help, and strives to support organizations and individuals whose focus is improving health and sleep. These include women’s shelters, trauma relief, war veteran groups, autism and sensor processing disorder organizations, and others.
