Founder and CEO of Pronto Concepts, Alexander Simone, began his entrepreneurial journey with the dream of inventing a way to instantly chill wine without watering it down with ice cubes. After much trial and error, he came up with the ProntoBev, the world’s first 30-second wine chiller. To date, he has raised $60,000 through an Indiegogo campaign, which is 216% of his original funding goal.
ProntoBev has amassed numerous positive reviews and accolades from Business Insider, Digital Trends, Now This, Trendhunter and a few others. The product is slated for its first release to the public in June of 2018 and the company has hundreds of preorders, mainly through their crowd funding campaign and appearance on Shark Tank.
As the company has grown, Mr. Simone has strategically added team members. Anton Shvydkyi is the chief product designer. Eric Anders is the chief engineer. Sean Williamson handles marketing and Giuseppe Simone is the wine expert.
The company describes itself as a group of inventors and designers on a mission to improve the small things in life. They have already invented the world’s fastest wine aerator known as ProntoAer, and are developing additional wine-related products including a new type of wine bottle opener.
ProntoBev can chill any beverage including wine, whiskey, orange juice, coffee or vodka to 20 degrees Fahrenheit in only 30 seconds or less. A built-in thermometer allows the user to achieve a specific temperature for various beverages. The product works on a very simple concept. Place the device in the freezer for an hour or more, then remove it and pour your beverage into the larger opening. Let it sit for 30 seconds, then pour the beverage out the smaller opening and back into the wine bottle or decanter.
The ProntoConcepts website lists the ideal temperature for each type of wine, along with some valuable information about each one including the correct pronunciation of the wine, flavor profiles, ideal drinking temps, and price ranges.
