A crowded beach house with fifteen family members and four dogs led Lisa Lane to develop a solution that would later become a successful business. During summers at the Jersey Shore, Lane found herself spending more time cleaning bathrooms than enjoying the beach, repeatedly filling buckets to rinse shower walls and bathe dogs. This daily frustration sparked an idea that would transform into Rinseroo, a company now approaching $3 million in annual sales.
Lane, who previously worked in pharmaceutical sales, developed a slip-on hose attachment that could temporarily connect to shower heads and faucets without requiring installation. The product’s stretchy connector expands up to five times its original size, allowing it to fit various fixture sizes. With support from her college friend turned patent attorney, Carolyn Favorito, Lane secured multiple patents for her invention.
The Rinseroo product line has expanded beyond the original shower attachment to include versions for tubs, sinks, and outdoor use. The company offers specialized models like a portable bidet for post-surgery care and a shower attachment designed for assisted bathing. Each product is designed to be removed after use due to the biodegradable nature of the TPR rubber connectors.
Social media played a significant role in the company’s growth when a cleaning influencer’s TikTok post featuring the product went viral. The unexpected surge in demand led to the company selling approximately one unit per minute on Amazon, requiring Lane to recruit friends and family to help fulfill orders during the peak period.
The business has faced challenges, particularly with copycat products. Competitors have attempted to use Lane’s copyrighted images, including photos of her and her dog, to sell similar products. In response, the company hired external brand protection services to address intellectual property infringement.
Now in its third year of business, Rinseroo has evolved from a single product to a growing brand. Lane has brought her son into the business full-time, and together they are developing new products in the bath and cleaning space. The company’s product line has expanded to include items like Shower Wowers, scented drain hair catchers, and the Dust Daisy vacuum attachment for dryer vent cleaning.
Born and raised in Edison, New Jersey, Lane attended the University of Delaware, working as a resident assistant to help cover expenses. Her path to entrepreneurship began while maintaining her pharmaceutical sales career, working evenings and weekends to develop Rinseroo until the business could sustain her full-time.
The Rinseroo product family now includes multiple variants designed for different uses throughout the home. The original version fits shower heads up to 4 inches in diameter, while a Jumbo version accommodates fixtures between 4-7 inches. The company also offers specialized models for tub faucets, featuring a 5-foot hose that fits spouts up to 3 inches in diameter. Each product emphasizes portability and ease of use, with no permanent installation required.
