CleanGreen Golf Balls

CleanGreen Golf Balls began with two brothers in Bastrop Texas who saw a steady supply of lost golf balls around local courses. Sami Mubasher and Rami Mubasher started picking up balls from ponds rough areas and nearby neighborhoods. They cleaned them and sold them online.

Both founders came from a family involved in online retail. Earlier work centered on an ecommerce business called Bastex that sold phone accessories and other items through Amazon. Sales in that venture grew from about 30 units a day to about 300 as the family gained experience with online marketplaces.

The golf ball effort grew from that background. The brothers began collecting balls in large batches around 2021. Recovery crews and divers gathered balls from water hazards and wooded areas on golf courses. The balls moved to a warehouse in Bastrop where staff soaked washed and scrubbed them. Workers then dried and sorted each ball by brand model and condition before packing them for sale.

CleanGreen sells reclaimed balls in packs sorted by brand or grade. Grades include Mint Near Mint and Good which reflect the level of wear on each ball. Some products use mixed brands while others focus on models such as Titleist or Callaway. The business also prints custom designs on recycled balls including photos logos and short text.

Orders ship through an online storefront and through marketplace channels such as Amazon and Walmart. Orders are processed in Bastrop and typically ship within a day of purchase. The business also runs a program that buys bulk golf balls from individuals who collect them near courses.

Growth followed as demand increased. A 2022 report described the operation with about 16 full time employees and a warehouse space of about 12,000 square feet. Sales during the previous year reached about $4.5 million according to the founders.

CleanGreen continues to run as a family operation. Staff roles include product sourcing equipment management and customer relations. The work still begins with the same step that started it. Someone pulls golf balls from ponds woods or backyards near a course and sends them to Bastrop to be cleaned sorted and sold again.
