Wedding Weekender

Anne Marie Carroll started Wedding Weekender after struggling to find a wedding video service that fit her budget and taste. She and her husband Bryan hired a college student to film their August 2024 wedding. Friends were making similar choices or dropping video altogether to preserve their photography budgets. Carroll began thinking about a service that would let couples keep a video record without hiring someone to spend the day filming.

She had also noticed friends bringing disposable cameras and digital cameras to social events. Camcorders could serve a similar role for video, with guests doing the filming rather than a hired videographer. Wedding Weekender would provide the equipment and turn the footage into an edited video afterward.

Carroll had worked in advertising before a layoff a month after her wedding. She took on freelance work while developing the business from her Denver condo. Her agency experience had made her familiar with creative production, but she started with little equipment: one Sony camcorder and a Squarespace website that together cost about $1,000.

Before she had a wedding client, Carroll filmed bachelorette trips and posted the results on TikTok. Two early videos drew more than 300,000 combined views in May 2025. Orders began arriving before she had built much of the business around them. She later told Vogue that Wedding Weekender received more than 50 orders in its first week despite having no wedding example on its website.

A box arrived before the wedding with cameras, batteries, memory cards and instructions. Friends and relatives could film throughout the weekend, including events beyond the ceremony and reception. Couples returned the equipment afterward and received both organized footage and a short edited film.

Early bookings also helped pay for expansion. Customers could reserve months before their weddings, giving Carroll money to buy more cameras before she needed to ship them. She had joked with her husband that 20 orders a month would be enough to make her want to work on the business full time. Demand soon led her to leave freelancing.

By the following April, Wedding Weekender had processed more than 2,000 orders and delivered over 650 videos. Many of those orders were reservations for future weddings, with bookings already extending into 2027. Carroll was running the company from a Denver warehouse and office with a small team and freelance video editors.

Carroll told Forbes that revenue reached $780,000 by the end of 2025 and roughly $2.3 million since launch by July 2026. The company had grown to seven employees and was shipping cameras beyond the United States to Canada, Britain and Australia.

Each returning package produced footage that needed to be sorted and edited. By August 2026, Carroll said the company was serving about 100 couples a week during peak wedding season. She had considered taking fewer orders to ease the strain but chose to hire more help. “The hardest thing for us right now has been scaling our operations to meet demand,” she told Jam Press.
