Coat Chex is a modern, ticketless coat checking technology. The system takes your picture and matches your face to your coat or other belongings. When it comes time to retrieve your coat, the attendant sees your picture and a picture of your coat to make sure there are no mix-ups. This system can also work for valet, dry-cleaning, baggage holding, or rental services. The creator of Coat Chex went into the Shark Tank asking for $200k for a 10% share of the company. Mark offered to come in for a higher 33% equity, but the proposal was turned down.
