Rufflebutts started as baby bloomers and evolved into a full clothing line for girls up to age 6, and it has become wildly popular. They also make a line of boys clothing called Ruggedbutts. These high quality garments amplify kid’s natural cuteness, and are as affordable as they are adorable. The creators of Rufflebutts went into the Shark Tank asking for $600k for 7% of their company. The sharks were blown away with their huge sales numbers, but also with their huge number of SKUs – good for customers but maybe hard to manage for an investor. Barbara offered to come in for a higher 12% equity. Lori offered to come in for 10% equity. In the end, Rufflebutts talked Lori down to 9% equity and made a deal.
