Samantha Coxe created Flaus after receiving a massive dental bill from neglecting to floss regularly. Despite being an avid twice-a-day toothbrusher, she struggled with the time-consuming and unpleasant process of flossing. Realizing the need for a better solution, she left her corporate job as an M&A attorney at Skadden, Arps to pursue her vision of disrupting the flossing industry, which had remained unchanged for over 200 years.
Coxe’s determination and belief in her product led her to invest her personal savings and raise $2 million from friends and family before securing an additional $2 million seed round led by Yeti Capital. Her background as an attorney at a prestigious law firm, assisting high-growth startups through their entire life cycle, provided her with the necessary skills and experience to navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship.
