Created by Angie Cella, a single mother of four, Blinger is a patented styling tool that effortlessly adds genuine crystals to one’s hair. The idea was born from a dream Angie had one night, envisioning a device that could bedazzle her hair with gems.
The journey to bring this dream to life was far from easy. Angie hired four different engineering firms over four years, but none could produce a viable prototype. Undeterred, she hired a fifth firm with the last of her savings, finally achieving a working prototype similar to the device Blinger offers today. However, she had exhausted her financial resources and faced rejection from every investor she approached.
With her children’s support, Angie made a significant sacrifice – she sold their home, downsized their belongings, and rented a townhome. This allowed her to fund the manufacturing of Blinger herself in China. Five months later, in October 2018, she showcased Blinger at the Dallas Toy Fair and the Women in Toys event in Texas, where it caught the attention of Walmart. By the end of the first day, Blinger was a hit, and it has since been distributed worldwide.
Blinger is more than just a business; it’s a testament to Angie’s profound faith and her belief that everyone has a God-given purpose. Throughout her career, she has dedicated herself to hard work, persistence, and motivating and supporting others to achieve their dreams.
One of Angie’s closest allies in this journey is her daughter, Cambria Cella, who serves as Blinger’s Social Media Manager and Chief of GSD (Getting Stuff Done). Cambria, a United States Army National Guard Military Police soldier, has been involved with Blinger since she was nine years old. She has witnessed firsthand the value of faith and hard work, and her role is to share God’s dream with the world through Blinger.
