Wondercide – Natural Flea, Tick, and Pest Control for Pets and People

Pesticides been linked to many serious health issues in children, adults and pets, including cancers, chronic allergies, developmental diseases, and poisonings. Pesticides also have equally devastating effects on our environment and often don’t biodegrade for a very long time. As they collect in our water and soil, they threaten the health of our planet and the wellbeing of generations to come. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that 80% of our lifetime exposure to pesticides happens in our homes. The US Fish & Wildlife Service reports that Americans use up to ten times more pesticides per acre on their lawns than farmers use on their crops. It’s up to us to put a cap on the reckless overuse of dangerous chemical pesticides.

Wondercide is on a mission to eliminate chemical pesticides from our lives by providing safe and effective alternatives to protect pets, families and homes from pests. Stephanie Boone founded Wondercide after her dog Luna suffered devastating side effects from the traditional flea & tick treatment she got from her vet. Her ten year old furry friend developed pesticide poisoning, with symptoms ranging from seizures and chronic skin issues to liver and kidney failure.

Based in Austin, Wondercide produces a full line of natural products that contain no toxic chemicals, no artificial colors or fragrances, no preservatives, and definitely no pyrethrins or synthetic pesticides. Wondercide is made with premium, natural and organic ingredients that are just as effective as the harsh toxic chemicals they replace.

The magic active ingredient in many of Wondercide’s products, such as the Flea & Tick treatment, is cedar oil. Cedar oil has been used for centuries to keep pests away, going back as far as the ancient Egyptians. On a scientific level, cedar oil works by blocking octopamine, which is necessary to regulate heart rate, movement, and metabolism in bugs like fleas and ticks. They are naturally driven away by it’s presence and cedar oil will kill them if they make contact with it. It’s perfectly safe for mammals, birds, fish, amphibians and more complex beneficial insects since they don’t have octopamine neurotransmitters.

Wondercide skin products and soaps contains a variety of other organic and natural ingredients like Karanja, Jojoba, Coconut, Lavender, Cedarwood, Lemongrass, Aloe Vera and Citronella.

Wondercide is committed to charity work and community service and believes giving back is an essential part of running a modern business. They donate their products to animal shelters and have developed a program called PAWSitive Impact in which they pay their employees to participate in outreach and community service during their regularly scheduled work hours.
