Splash Swim Goggles

Splash Swim Goggles is a small family business located in Goodyear, Arizona, founded by Ashley Carson and her mother Karen Walker. The company manufactures swim goggles and masks designed specifically for kids, featuring fabric straps instead of traditional plastic or rubber straps.

The idea for Splash Swim Goggles came a few years ago when Ashley was preparing for a family vacation. She realized her son’s goggles had broken, despite having just purchased them a month prior for swim lessons. Frustrated with the constant issue of broken straps and the discomfort of traditional goggles pulling on her children’s hair, Ashley took matters into her own hands. Utilizing leftover fabric from a previous at-home selling business featuring kids’ products like headbands, she crafted a makeshift replacement strap for her son’s goggles. To her surprise, the fabric strap held up remarkably well during their vacation.

Recognizing the potential of her improvised solution, Ashley decided to officially launch Splash Swim Goggles in May 2017, offering goggles designed with comfortable, adjustable fabric straps that conform to swimmers’ heads without pulling on their hair. The patent-pending straps are made from a material similar to swimsuit fabric and are wider than traditional straps, allowing for a better fit. They come in a variety of solid colors and fun prints.

Splash Swim Goggles are designed to be comfortable, durable, and practical. The goggles themselves feature polycarbonate lenses that are shatterproof and anti-fog for optimal visibility. They are also hypoallergenic, being latex and PVC-free, making them suitable for those with certain allergies or sensitivities.

While initially developed with kids in mind, the adjustable design of Splash Swim Goggles allows them to fit swimmers aged 3 and up, including adults. This versatility has made them popular among parents of children with special needs, as the wide, stretchy fabric straps are easier to manage for those with limited hand mobility or sensory issues. They have also proven beneficial for kids with Cochlear implants, as the lack of hair-pulling reduces discomfort and potential dislodging of the implants.

In the first year after conceiving the idea, Ashley worked diligently to bring Splash Swim Goggles to market. She sourced a company to supply the goggle lenses and established local partnerships for fabric sourcing and product assembly. A team of women in the local community assists with assembling the goggles, which are proudly made in the USA.

While the journey to launch Splash Swim Goggles was not without its challenges, the support and positive reception from customers and retailers have made it a rewarding endeavor for Ashley and Karen. They remain committed to providing a practical and comfortable solution to the common frustrations associated with traditional kids’ swim goggles.
