It all began on the campus of Indiana State University in 1984. Brenda Coffman, a business student, began a small business from her Married Student Housing apartment called the Cookie Cabin. Her primary customers were students and faculty at both ISU and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology where her husband attended. In January of 1985, Brenda began negotiating for the first retail store with the Simon Property Group who are the largest mall developers in the country and the owners of the Markland Mall in Kokomo, Indiana.
Blondie’s Cookies became an Indiana based corporation in 1985. On September 3,1985, the first store opened in Kokomo and other locations were established in following years.
