Golfing buddies, Carlos Ortiz and Scott Duff, were tired of their beer warming up too quickly after a round of golf in the Texas heat. They searched for a hand-held cooler for individual drinks, found none, so set out to make one themselves. Scott demonstrated: He filled the cooler cup with ice water, sealed it with the leak-proof ring and snapped in a can. They offered the sharks 100% of their business with a 12% royalty on future sales.
The sharks struggled to find out why Carlos and Scott wanted to sell their whole business. Carlos and Scott stuttered and stammered through explanations, none that actually explained and none that helped their cause. Maybe it was because a promotional company they worked with went bankrupt. Maybe it was lack of sales. Maybe it was the warehouse full of My Cold Snaps that sat gathering dust. The sharks were not interested.
There was a brief flurry of interest in My Cold Snap after the Shark Tank appearance, but it wasn’t large enough and it didn’t last long enough to make a difference. All channels of communication with the business, website and social media accounts, soon closed.
My Cold Snap is no longer in business.
