TORCH Warriorwear is a women-owned business founded by entrepreneur Haley McClain Hill. Hill served for 4 years as an Active Duty Air Force officer after graduating from Penn State University’s ROTC program. She also worked as an NFL cheerleader for both the Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers during her time in service. Her diverse background shaped the vision for TORCH Warriorwear – a clothing brand catering specifically to the underserved market of women in the military.
The company is headquartered in Los Angeles, California where its products are proudly manufactured in-house. Hill relocated to LA to build connections within the fashion industry after leaving the Air Force. Her time on active duty made her realize the lack of options and attention paid to properly fitting and functional uniforms for female service members. Standard-issue tops were often boxy men’s sizes rather than thoughtfully tailored for women’s figures. This sparkled the idea for TORCH Warriorwear, which aims to design the comfortable and confidence-boosting gear that Hill wished she had access to during her own service.
TORCH Warriorwear’s signature offering is its line of form-fitting bodysuits constructed from a custom spandex and rayon blend fabric. The material is soft, substantial, smoothing, and breathable with plenty of stretch for a stay-put fit under uniforms. The bodysuits come in short sleeve and long sleeve versions and feature the motivational “Be Fearless” motto embroidered along the hip. This serves as an uplifting message of empowerment for the women wearing them.
The bodysuits have a crew neck, glossy bodice seaming, and snap closures at the bottom for easy restroom use. They are intentionally designed without excess fabric to avoid uncomfortable bunching under military uniforms. The colors offered are the standard issued shades like olive green, tan, black, and brown which allows them to be subtly worn as under layers.
In addition to the core bodysuit lineup, TORCH Warriorwear also sells coordinating hats, hair accessories, and other lifestyle products for female service members both on and off duty.
The company’s goal is to supply functional, stylish gear to help transform how women feel in uniform. Female personnel currently make up only around 17% of active duty armed forces, so their needs are often an afterthought when it comes to military-approved accessories and under layers. TORCH Warriorwear was created to fill this void.
Founder Haley McClain Hill expresses: “I know that it’s more than a uniform. Your uniform tells the world who you are and what you do. It is a symbol of safety, identity and unity.” TORCH aims to provide that symbol of empowerment specifically for women warriors through its products designed by and for those who serve.
