Introducing Lavabox, a portable campfire solution designed for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a hassle-free and safe way to have a fire anytime, anywhere. Lavabox is the brainchild of Joshua Thurmond, who started by hand-making burners in his garage in Denver, Colorado. Today, Lavabox has a patent-pending burner and a range of models and accessories to suit your needs.
The Simple Design
The Lavabox is designed to run off propane, making it incredibly easy to use. There’s no need to gather firewood, deal with smoke or ashes, or worry about starting a wildfire. All Lavabox models are compatible with a common 3/8” flare fitting for easy connections.
How to Get Started
Setting up your Lavabox is quick and straightforward. First, ensure the campfire is placed on a level, stable, and non-combustible surface. Remove the cap and lid from your chosen Lavabox model and ensure the valve on the gas source and regulator are in the OFF position. Connect the regulator to the gas source and the hose to the campfire. Test the gas flow and use a long lighter to ignite the first burner hole. Adjust the fire height using the regulator.

Safety and Fire Bans
Lavabox generally meets or exceeds Stage 1 and Stage 2 fire restriction requirements. However, always consult local law enforcement about fire restrictions before using your Lavabox. Never leave the Lavabox unattended and only allow adults to operate it. Ensure it is used in a well-ventilated outdoor area and placed on a firm, nonflammable surface.
Fuel Consumption and Cooking
A Tabletop model will last about 12-16 hours on a 10LB propane tank, depending on the flame height. You can cook on your Lavabox using the specially designed Over/Under Grill Thingy or your own elevated grill. Ensure there’s 1-2 inches of space between the ammo can and your cookware for proper ventilation.
