Pier Paolo Visconti’s sister had a dilemma. She wanted to get out and exercise, and she wanted to spend as much time as possible with her baby. Pier Paolo thought, “If only she could be with the baby while she exercised…” That’s when he had his “aha!” moment: the world’s first Elliptical Stroller.
Pier Paolo came to America from Italy with $400 in his pocket and settled in Miami, Florida. He worked hard and built a successful business selling high-end real estate, so he had the resources to bring his idea to life. It took several years, but he developed a working prototype and had it patented in the USA, Europe, China, Australia, Mexico and Canada. He “test drove” the prototype around Miami Beach and in Times Square in New York City. He thought he had a great idea, but he was unprepared for the enthusiastic reception of the crowds.
The Elliptical Stroller is an innovative design that allows users to get in a workout while enjoying the fresh air and sunlight with their children. Not only does the exercise burn calories and restore confidence in physical abilities, but it also gets those endorphins flowing to help reduce the stress of new motherhood. The stroller consists of two main parts: a baby carriage in the front and an elliptical drive mechanism in the back. You can use the stroller in both conventional and athletic modes. Fold the mechanism up and the Elliptical Stroller becomes simply a stroller like any other. Open the mechanism and you have an elliptical machine.
Using the Elliptical Stroller
- Unfold the elliptical mechanism.
- Put your feet on the pedals.
- Fold the handles into the “athletic” position. Move the pedals up and down as on any elliptical machine.
- And there you are, moving the stroller forward!
- When you want to go back to “walk” mode, it’s just as easy to fold the mechanism up and out of your way.
