Sister and brother, Kimberley and Matthew Foley, were the owners and creators of Wee Can Shop, a mini shopping mall where children could shop for gifts for their loved ones. The children push small shopping carts from store front to store front (e.g., shops with kitchen items, candles, accessories) in search of the perfect gift. Once they purchase their selections, they can then wrap the gifts as a finishing touch. Kimberley believes this is a completely unique idea that can grow into a nationwide chain. She and Matthew want to franchise the shop and need an investment and the business expertise of a shark.
The Foleys had been in business for 3 ½ years, and in the previous year, sales were only $13,000. Kimberley explained that they needed to establish a Wee Can Shop in a more advantageous location, and sales would soar. The sharks stressed that the first store had to be successful before opening a new one and before trying to franchise the business. They simply could not invest in it.
Kimberley remained optimistic and thanked the sharks for their insights. She made a YouTube video of her well-stocked, really adorable shop with happy children shopping in it in an effort to attract investors, but was unsuccessful. The Wee Can Shop stayed open a couple/few more years until the financial losses forced it to close.
Wee Can Shop is no longer in business.
